‘Eat Out To Help Out’ boosts hospitality sector

| Katarzyna Tomczak

The Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which is now coming to the end of its third week, sees prices of food bills slashed by 50% every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday throughout the month of August to boost a hospitality sector which has suffered huge looses as a result of the pandemic.

Since Eat Out To Help Out scheme began on 3rd of August, restaurants, pubs, and cafes in Enniskillen have been as busy as on a Saturday. Many restaurants have been fully booked and owners are appreciating the ‘brilliant’ scheme for bringing footfall back, and helping them to get back some of the revenue they have missed during the lockdown.

With more people becoming aware of the government Eat Out to Help Out scheme and coming back day after day to the town we could see a desire for a bit of ‘normality’.

The Eat Out to Help Out scheme has been a positive for the businesses in Enniskillen so far, and it will be interesting to see what will happen when it finishes, but hopefully people will still continue to feel comfortable to go out and eat out, and start spending again, which will have a positive impact on the local economy.
