The Enniskillen Gift Card is officially the best!!!
Facing strong competition from projects in London, Aberdeen and Manchester, the Enniskillen Gift Card shone through at the 2018 Town and City Management Industry Awards. The awards which took place during June in Hull were shaped to showcase best practice on key issues from towns and cities across the UK and Ireland. ATCM (Association of Town and City management) who manage the awards wanted to identify successful projects that they believed should be celebrated! This year the Awards received a record number of submissions, making it one of the most competitive ever. The response had been of such high quality that there were fantastic projects that didn’t even make the shortlist. For ATCM it demonstrated the excellent work that is taking place daily across the Town and City Management industry.
The Enniskillen Gift Card was named as the Best Business Support Initiative for it’s innovation and demonstration of working successfully with local key stakeholders.
The Enniskillen Gift Card is an initiative of Enniskillen BID Ltd who work to improve the trading conditions in the Enniskillen area. The Gift Card can be given as a present but can only be used in registered Enniskillen businesses – which promotes loyalty in our beautiful island town! The Gift Card uses the Mastercard network and is processed like a normal Mastercard payment meaning the business get their money quickly and no one has to worry about pieces of paper to process!
The Enniskillen Gift Card was launched in late November 2017 and has almost surpassed £40,000 sales. Noelle McAloon, Enniskillen BID Manager commented “The Gift Card has been embraced by the community in Enniskillen, because it is efficient, it is the perfect local gift and because people here feel great loyalty to Fermanagh and Enniskillen. This has been such an exciting initiative to work on!”
The Enniskillen Gift Card can be used in over 112 businesses located in Enniskillen ranging from coffee shops, fashion, shoes, beauty, accommodation and bars!
Anna Devlin, Chairperson of Enniskillen BID also showed her delight at the recent accolade “The Enniskillen Gift Card project was a significant first year project for Enniskillen BID and we didn’t enter into it lightly. It was well thought out and a great deal of hard work went into researching it. Watching its success has been very satisfying and we hope it will continue to grow”
