St Patrick’s Day celebration in Enniskillen

| Noelle McAloon

☘   This year thousands decided to come out to enjoy the vibrant St Patrick’s Day celebration in Enniskillen   ☘

Organised by Project St Patrick, the parade began at the Lakeland Forum with a host of traditional and modern entertainment acts including local band Full Moon Fever who added the festival atmosphere of the day. There were plenty of games, activities and fun on offer for the whole family. The town centre was filled to capacity with crowds four deep around Diamond and Hollow areas.

It was a great day! Even the weather stayed favourable for enough time for the festival day and parade to pass off well. The organiser of Project St Patrick,  Fergal Shannon, was delighted with the turnout describing the event as “probably our best parade to date”. There were 32 ‘pieces’, between bands and floats, up four from last year, in the parade including quests from Inishowen and Cork.  “We had a big crowd at the fun day events and there was a real carnival atmosphere” Fergal said.
